Board Election 2021

On November 2, 2021, Weld County School District Re-3J will have four of its five Board of Education seats open for election: Director District A, Director District B, Director District C, and Director District D.
Please see map for specific Director District boundaries. All voters living within district boundaries will vote on all candidates, choosing one per director district. Terms for Director District A, Director District B, and Director District C are 4 year terms ending in 2025. The term for Director District D is a 2 year term ending in 2023.

 

Requirements for School Board Candidates

Must be registered to vote

Must be a resident of the director district in which running for office

Must not have been convicted of a sexual offense against a child

 

Once Declared as a Candidate

Must meet filing requirements under Colorado's Fair Campaign Practices Act (FCPA)

Must file a candidate's affidavit with the Secretary of State's office within 10 days of becoming a candidate

Must report contributions and expenditures on the Secretary of State's online TRACER program by dates due

Must file for Nomination Petitions through the Weld County School District Re-3J District Office, 1101 4th Avenue, Hudson, CO 80642

Must collect 50 eligible elector signatures and return petitions to the Weld County School District Re-3J District Office by August 27, 12:00 p.m.

Petitions are available beginning August 4, 7:30 a.m. in the District Office.

 

Election Date: Tuesday, November 2, 2021

The election will be held by mail ballot and Voter Service Polling Centers beginning with the mailing of ballots to voters in October.

 

The Board of Education is the policy-making body of the school district. The Board is composed of five members, elected to alternating four-year terms. Board members receive no pay; they give freely of their time to serve the community.
