Multi-Tiered Systems of Support-MTSS

Support for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is part of state and district-wide initiative to increase the collective capacity of schools to implement and sustain the five major components which define MTSS (team-driven data-based problem solving for improving the outcomes of every student through family, school, and community partnering and a layered continuum of evidence-based practices).

This work is lead through collaboration between Support Programming, Special Education, and Assessment and Curriculum.

In order to help ensure participation and leadership with various stakeholders the district formed a MLT (MTSS Leadership Team) in September of 2016. The team is comprised of teachers (prek-12), special service providers, administration, and parents.

Our goal through this initiative is to build a consistent multi-tiered process that encourages and supports staff, students, and families across the district to engage in a team-based problem solving approach to universal data. We are confident that through this process we will begin to see fewer behavioral issues, an increase in academic growth and proficiency for all students, and increased teacher and parent resources and supports.
